Since 2005 I have received grants from The City of Oakland's Cultural Arts Funding Program for Individual Artists. This grant enables me to work bedside with children (and their families) in long-term care at local hospitals. Currently I am working at Kaiser Permanente Oakland. I also conduct Doll Making classes at The Mary Elizabeth Inn in San Francisco (a women's shelter).
These dolls, made by the patients, with my assistance, can reflect his/her/their own personality or unique physical traits. Some children chose to make familiar cartoon characters, mythical creatures, or animals like their beloved pets back home.

Over the years I have also received grants from The Taylor Family Foundation, Philanthropic Ventures Foundation, City Stitchers, and many individuals.
